This package contains a dictionary for hindi in a format suitable for editors XMLmind and <oXygen/>. The wordlist was taken from the file used for aspell: aspell6-hi-0.01-0.tar.bz2.
The package is licensed under GPL as the original dictionary for aspell.
After unpacking the package you will
see several file. The important file is hi.dar
. Copy it to
the directory mentioned in the manual of your editor.
This manual is also included in the package. You need not save this page separately.
The package contains other files that were used for creation of the dictionary. Their description will be given in the following paragraphs.
The original wordlist is distributed in a format intended
for aspell version 6.x. It will not work with version 5.x. The wordlist
is compressed and must be first converted to a plain text file using the
preunzip
program. It seems that there is a bug in this
program. Three nonsense lines are appended to the end of the text file.
These lines must be deleted. The last correct word is
ह्रास (hraas).
I do not like that the original wordlist uses separate nukta
character even with consonants existing in Unicode (such as ज़ = za). Such
characters were converted by cnv.pl
issuing the command
./cnv.pl <hi.wl >hicnv.wl |
File hi.hints
contains the list of hints for
Hindi.
Conversion to the format suitable for editors XMLmind and <oXygen/> was done by Dictionary Builder. The following commands were used:
/path/to/dictbuilder -cs UTF-8 -hints hi.hints hicnv.wl -o hi/hi.cdi jar cvf hi.dar hi/* |
hi.zip, 70 KiB
